For the fourth consecutive time since the farm school opened in November 2017, 100% of the newest batch of graduate students at the AGREA Farm School pass the Organic Agriculture Production assessment.
All 25 graduates from the AGREA Farm School get passing competency remarks for Organic Agriculture Production National Certification (OAP NCII) last 2-4 July 2018. This qualifies all 25 of them as Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-certified Organic Agriculture Farmers.
All of the achievers are qualified as competent Organic Agriculture Farmers, Organic Chicken Raisers, Organic Hogs Raisers, Organic Vegetables Farmers, Organic Concoctions and Extracts Producers, and Organic Fertilizer Producers.
PAY IT FORWARD. Lorie Licop, AGREA's Capacity Building Programs Coordinator and the farm school's registrar, shares that it's now the graduates’ responsibility to reach out to as many Marinduqueños who weren’t able to attend the training, about the benefits of organic farming.
Mr. Keneth de Gracia, a TESDA-certified OAP NCII assessor and Farm Tourism Director of Costales Nature Farms, supervised the evaluation at the AGREA Farm School and Assessment Center in Barangay Cawit, Boac, Marinduque.
In the previous assessments in the later part of 2017 and the early months of this year, AGREA Farm School also recorded a perfect passing rate in the said national assessment.
Like the farm school’s earlier batches of graduates, this new set of passers is composed of small-scale farmers, agriculturists by profession, Agriculture degree holders, technical vocational trainers, former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFWs), senior high school graduates, senior citizen, and community-based youths.
Organic Agriculture Production NCII qualification consists of competencies that a person must achieve to produce organic farm products such as chicken and vegetables, including the production of organic supplements such as fertilizers, concoctions and extracts, as well as raising organic hogs.
TEACHER'S PRIDE. Teacher Estella Gutierrez, AGREA's resident agriculturist and farm school instructor, express her pride and appreciation as all her 25 trainees passed the challenging assessment.
AGREA’s Organic Agriculture Production course is supported by the TESDA Marinduque Provincial Office under the Training for Work Scholarship Program. 75 TESDA scholarships vouchers assigned to the AGREA Farm School, including these new passers’ scholarship vouchers, are through the efforts of the Office of Marinduque Congressman Lord Allan Jay Velasco.
